Maximus with his Mahout (handler)
15" x 19" x 7"

A client asked me to make an elephant tea pot for his collection. This one is based on an elephant that I spent the day with while I was in Laos.

Some of the material used to construct the elephant and figure include a brass plumbing pipe for the spout, an old leather work apron for the ears, a piece of bamboo that I got in Laos that the figure is sitting on, bike tire foot pads, tusks carved from old juniper wood, and my usual assortment of odds and ends.

There are dozens of doves that come down to feed on the ground and at the bird feeder. This piece shows three of them coming in for a landing.

Leaping Antelope

This antelope is leaping over a fence. I often see pronghorn antelopes on my way to Colorado.
